There is something that attracts me to wild forests and at the same time that scares me a lot. It's not the lush green, the absence of any human presence, the pounding of a waterfall, the chant of the birds. Forests are scary because they are so immense and wild that you can be buried inside and no one would notice. When the night comes, what were before beautiful trees glowing softly in the golden light, they become dark eerie branches looming over your head, the gentle breeze becomes a chilly howling wind, and the nocturnal animals leave their burrows and lairs to come out hunting.
However, I continue to seek new forests to get lost into. The lack of a clear subject, and the repetitiveness of the trees make these environments particularly hard to photograph. Wandering in untouched wild is definitely one of my things.
